schroeder-Lein's excellent scholarship manages to cover the President, Mary from their marriage, and their boys. She effectively debunks some speculation on illnesses--especially the President's supposed conditions. Second half deals with assasination and family, chiefly Mary, afterwards. This small volume is full of interesting info.Recommend the book, even for scholars. This was an excellently written book about Lincoln and the practice of medicine during his lifetime! Everyone who wants to learn all about American history should read this book!
